About Brian: Seventeen years ago, he took a big chance that paid off when he turned his passion about wine into a second career. After earning his Sommelier certification in 2006, Brian helped open the first Vino Volo wine bar at Dulles Airport. He then led several diverse wine programs in the DC area (including lists for chefs José Andrés and Wolfgang Puck), before relocating to California in 2011 to run a few more (while leading curated wine tours of Northern California). Brian also spent time on the distribution/sales side of the wine industry, representing hundreds of quality domestic (California, Oregon, East Coast) and imported (Europe, South America) wineries.
Attending Oregon Pinot Camp in 2009 turned out to be the initial spark that ignited Brian’s passion for wines from the Willamette Valley and other regions of Oregon. This interest in what makes the Valley so special eventually led him to the coveted Wine Director role at The Allison Inn & Spa/Jory Restaurant in Newberg. Forever an advocate for smaller, family-owned wineries, Brian sees this job as the culmination of the years he has spent as a champion for this premier wine region and its incredible band of talented and passionate vintners.
The tasting room will be closed to the public.
